PeopleSoft Solution
Managed a team of 10 functional and 4 systems staff members in ongoing
processing of payroll and benefits for approximately 10,000 employees
during a time of significant corporate restructuring. Select
accomplishments include: Established a centralized employee services
center, which improved, service levels and efficiency reducing overall
headcount by 15 percent.
Provided technical/business consulting and test management for the
following projects: PeopleSoft HRMS upgrades (from 3.22 to 4.12 and from
4.12 to 5.12) conversion of plant payroll from Cyber to PeopleSoft and
development of interfaces to new service providers. Rapidly created all
required ad-hoc reports and files to support several major
divestitures.
Lead the HR task force in defining objectives and selecting PeopleSoft
HRMS to replace existing HR benefit and payroll systems. Then assumed
fill responsibility for all technical and functional aspects of systems.
Development testing and implementation. Managed a team of 12 to 17
technical staff function staff and outside consultants. Specific areas of
responsibility and accomplishments included: Continued leadership of the
HR task forced to define scope and business requirements create an overall
project plan and submit cost/benefit analysis to obtain budget
approval.
Completed fit analysis and recommended design solutions or procedural
workarounds for all functions. Successfully identified solutions that met
all payroll needs without direct modification to PS delivered COBOL
code.
Using PeopleTools, developed a PS application to document system changed,
including detailed tracking if all PS objects. This has proved invaluable
in future upgrades and enhancements as a supplement to PS delivered
upgrade tools. Defined detailed user requirements and completed
functional design for payroll and related functions. Worked with clients
to complete workflow redesign for payroll and related functions. Did the
detailed design and testing of the savings plan and general ledger
interfaces
Provided leadership to programmer/analysts, team leader and clients by
planning and coordinating activities. Promoting cooperation between team
members and between teams.
Being flexible in using a common sense approach to systems development
methodology and understanding the relationships between all of the
functions affected and technical considerations. Provided on-site
technical support during the post implementation period.
